About the Artist
Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 02:23PM Victoria Gist-Towner loves bold color and shape, beginning with a simple subject and recreating it as part of a design. Along with vibrant and brilliant colors and strong shapes, sometimes adding a touch of fun.
Victoria attended Madeley College of Keele University in England and studied Art and Education. Leaving Education she went back to College and studied to be a Registered Nurse. Throughout this time she painted and explored her creative side. She shows her work in San Diego, Pasadena, San Francisco, and Sacramento.
Working primarily with acrylics on canvas, Victoria sometimes adds a third dimension—wood, paper mache, cloth, plastic, and/or items of nature.
Victoria hopes to awaken in the viewer a sense of the profound, elemental beauty of life.
